    I think most of people get their status changed to actively reviewed after biometrics. This could become an RFE or an approval. In relation to timeline, could be a couple of months, could be a few more. There is no way of telling, as there is some incosistency around it currently.

    I haven't seen a lot of new cases beeing created on the tool, so maybe they are doing new year preparation. Considering the New Years, I'd give a few more days (I know, it seems we always been giving more days) before getting worried. Did you submit a check? Was the check cashed?

    You can create an account on USPS and you will have an option under the tab receive to sign up for Informed Delivery. USCIS should inform you of your tracking code, in any case, as soon as the case status changes to Card Was Picked Up by USPS.

    Yes, if mailing goes well. Mine changed yesterday to Produced, and today it was picked up by USPS and I got the tracking code. Should received it end of Week, or early next week, if mailing goes well.

    I wasn’t asked for any. I went to a SSA with passport/visa, I-94 and my A-number and they did it for me. The SSN is restricted, so you can’t use it for work until you have your EAD, but it is helpful for bank account and other stuff.

    I applied a week after arrival, not married yet, and it got delivered a few days after.

    Got my approval last night at 2am ET for the EAD!

    Yes. Apparently they ask you to look the other way because if you see you may have an inclination to "help" the fingerprinting and that can distort the natural flow of the rolling the finger in the machine.

    Oh, that is interesting. That explains why we were being asked to look away when doing the fingerprints! EDIT: According to my wife, she has been fingerprinted before for different reasons, as she is a US citizen, and she believes that the green just means that the capture of the fingerprint was perfect, the orange means that it is blurry or not perfect, but can be accepted if the agent thinks so, and red means that the fingerprint has to be taken again. Not sure how accurate this is, and if also applicable to USCIS, but could be.

    Congratulations! That is amazing! Quick question, what was the status of the EAD ticker at the time you had your appointment? Was it in active review or was it Notice sent?

    When applying for the Work Authorization, you will have to select which elegibility applies to you. You are going to have two options: K1 - This will be only valid for the duration of your K1 visa (max 90 days, i.e. the permit would expire at the end of the 90 days after entrance with K1 visa) - in practice, I'm not sure how useful this is at the moment, as it is possible, if not more likely the permit would not be ready on timely manner, considering current processing times. Jointly with AOS. The duration of this one will be longer, and probably work for the time you wait for the Green Card; Processing times for EAD is heavily dependent on where you are applying for it. If you look into the timelines at VJ currently, some people are getting the work permit through AOS in roughly 30 days, others in a couple of months, and others have been sitting for quite some time. To be fair with you, and this is not advice, I see no point in applying it through K1 currently. AOS seems to be the only viable option. But I may be wrong here. To be fair, haven't heard of anyone applying for the K1 EAD in the last few years. Maybe someone else have head.

    I have no info on that, but that is the case for me as well, therefore I believe it may be standard (i.e. they do not scan all documents).

    Also got mine on Friday, and was able to retrieve it, but on Saturday got the physical letter itself with the appointment!

    No Priority Date. I got it a day after arrival, if I'm not mistaken. Most people are receiving it really quickly.
