HI all. I got my green card issued on may 1st 2023 and it expires on May 1st 2025. I need your help clearing some things up. Due to weddings, funerals, honeymoon and other family plans i will be spending 6months 3weeks outside of the US between July 2023 and July 2024. 1 - the 6 months in a year thing.... my greencard is valid for 2 years. Can I be out for 6 months within each year or 6 months total between may 2023- may 2025? 2. If I can be out for 6 months within a year and then another 6 months when does that year start and restart? I'm assuming my year starts and reboots in May but have read different things. For example I spent 4.5months out between May 2023- May 2024 so would my trip this summer count as a new batch meaning i'd only be spending 7 weeks out of the year out? As I have a remote job from the uk and we don't own property in the states I've read that being out of the country for more than 6months in a year (again, not sure if thats a rolling year or from when my greencard was issued) without the proof could be risky. Any help and advice would be apprecaited and sorry if the questions don't make much sense, been trying to figure this otu for hours.

This "Card Is Being Processed" came after we had a RFE for medical and proof of marital living. We sent it back and it got to the lockbox a week ago and then we got the case updated yesterday. I'll update my timeline

HI, Congrats on everyone that has heard back and been approved. I have a few questions for you all My i-485 case has changed to Card Is Being Produced (yay). My i-765 still says Finger Prints Were Taken and my i-131 says Expedite Denied 1. I was assuming the card coming my way from i-485 is my EAD card, does that sound correct? 2. What needs approving before I can travel internationally? I was hoping an EAD card would do it, but i'm finding conflicting things online. Thanks

@Marquise007 We got texted (I know not everyone does though) and then received mail confirmation nearly a week later.

@Marquise007 HI. It took them 26days to take our payment and recieve our applications. Fingers crossed you'll hear something very soon.

Hello everyone. Great to see so much forward movement in these next steps. We sent our AOS in along with the other suggested appications on 12.19.22 and saw through the USP tracking service that it got picked up on 12.22.22 by a guy called Mike. I haven't recieved any email, text or physcial mail to let us know that they have received it. I know it's been christmas etc but still think it's a bit odd we haven't had any confirmation they've got it safely. Anyone else been waiting a while for confimation? Thanks in advance

I just googled who the local congress person was within my fiances district and then on their contact page there was a form to fill in. Think I titled it something like K1 Visa processing help or missing case (drawn a blank) I told them our situation of not hearing anything since our NOA2 and asked if they were able to find anything out for us. Gave our USCIS case number and both our full names. It was so quick and easy.

Hi all. For anyone without any answers, reach out to the petitioners local congress rep. We got our NOA2 on July 27th. Hadn't heard anything so I did a few case enquiry forms (realised they'll take a while to get to) and wrote to my fiance in the states local congresswomen on Friday (23rd of sep). Today they got back to us that our case was received by NVC on the 8th of September. They are currently processing cases received on the 2nd of september so it shouldn't be too long.
