Another week over. I don't feel much like celebrating it. I'm too uptight over the fact that we still haven't gotten Moh's appointment to give his prints. He called TNT again yesterday and argued with the woman for over 30 minutes again. They required him to jump through all these damn hoops. She said she needed his passport AGAIN. Well, this is utterly stupid because all the people waiting visas in Cairo have their passports inside the Embassy. This is procedure. So he took the copy I sent him and gave her all the info from the passport including his number. She asked him to spell in english all the information on his passport. After all that she said "oh well, we have no open appointments, sorry, " and hung up on him! The call center is utterly worthless and I don't know what they hell do there other then drain people's bank accounts and draw their own paychecks. Retarded. So we have to wait until Sunday to hope for a reply to my 2 emails now to the Embassy requesting their assistance so we can just get this over with. I am trying so hard to not think about it, but it was kind of poured over me like a bucket of sour milk the moment I got out of bed this morning. Yuck.

The good news is... tomorrow I can sleep late! Yippee! This going to work before the sun is up is for the birds, although the traffic is nice. I had a bunch of other stuff I wanted to say but I utterly forgot... maybe when I thaw out later...

Hope everybody has nice plans for the weekend.

Thank you, Salwa. My prayers are with you too. Your wishes are very appreciated. I am really looking forward to 2 days of sleeping and relaxing (enshaa Allah). Have you and Mark made any travel arrangements?

(Say a prayer for Mohammed too. He's really having a hard time with all this. He feels like a criminal.)

Hope everyone is having a good Friday! Jean, I hope you find out some answers soon.

Things here are good. I'm getting off in about 45 minutes to go to a bridesmaids' luncheon, and then the rest of the day will be rehearsal stuff for my friend's wedding. Then, of course, the wedding tomorrow.

Speaking of which, here's an interesting tidbit. It's my best friend who's getting married. I'm a bridesmaid. She knows Amed, spent a week with us in Paris, and has even written him a couple of postcards and vice versa. She loves him to death. However, when our invitations came to the wedding and the rehearsal dinner, they were both made out to my name "and guest." Amed was really offended. I tried to explain to him that she had the invitation list ready to go months ago, before she knew if he would be here, and gave it to her mother to handle because she knew she would be studying for the bar exam when it was time for invitations to go out, but he said that was no excuse. He's refusing to go to the rehearsal dinner but did say that he would go to the wedding. He thinks it shows a lack of respect. I think it's a big faux pas, and I told my friend how much it bothered Amed, but if it happened to me, even though I would be annoyed, I wouldn't take it personally. Is this a cultural thing, or am I just out of it?

In other news, our AOS got transferred to CSC! I'm so excited because our local service center is 2 years behind. I'm hoping for a speedier process at CSC.

Well, I hope everyone has a lovely Friday and a lovely weekend!
