Our k1 application has been taking too long and I still haven't received the NOA2 form yet. From what I heard from others, even though they may not have received their NOA2 yet, the online status would have a few updates between NOA1 and NOA2 (so called touched). However, our case still shows the application reception date, but no other updates at all.

So I think I should make a call; but the question is, who should I talk to when I call? Their automated service always says "our customer service reps do not have anything newer than what's shown online"... thanks.

PS. We filed to nebraska, and the materials got transferred to california. does this make a difference? (ie. they process the ones sent directly to CA first, and then process those transferred from NE)??

Looking at your timeline and based on averages of others on VJ, your adjudication date is still a few days away. You can call USCIS, but they wont tell you anything new and its WAY too early to call your congressman. Just hold tight for a few more weeks and then worry. Good luck!

Actually, you are at the point when you should be getting your NOA2 very soon.

There are only a few who have an NOA1 later than yours who have the NOA2.

From what gathered reading posts from people who have called USCIS, they are generally less than helpful on the phone. You can try, but I'm guessing it would only add to your frustration. You are not nearly up to their exaggerated 'processing times'. I think they will not want to talk to you.

Hang in there a bit longer. I know its tough, I'm doing it too...

Because either A) it is still sitting on a shelf somewhere/someone's desk and hasn't been touched yet or B ) it has been touched and the online status just hasn't updated. When we got our NOA2, the online status didnt change for 3 weeks after we were approved.

thanks for the replies. I guess I will have to wait. But what's bothering me is the fact that my application never got "touched"... why is that?

Don't stress about whether or not you get "touched"-- many people go through the process without any evidence of touches at all. In the grand scheme of things, touches don't really mean anything. Focus instead on getting prepared for what comes next after you receive your NOA2 -- getting your paperwork in order, etc etc.

Ghostbusters. Sorry the name of the post made me do it.

By the date of your 1st NOA your due for your 2nd NOA pretty soon. Hang in there a while longer. You're still far away from concern. Also, that "touch" business is overated. I'm approved and never had a touch. Didn't have one the first time through either.

I was waiting for someone to say that :)

To the OP, my case hasn't been touched either, so I wouldn't worry about it. If all goes the way things have been going recently, you'll probably get your NOA2 sometime in the next 2 weeks. Good luck and hang in there.

REALLy folks... Touching means anything and nothing. A "touch" simply means someone had your petition in their hand and made note of it in the database. You want to see action, not touches. Touching does not mean your case is moving better along than one without.

I totally agree :) dependance & worrying on touches and even timelines really can get in the way of positive mental health :)
