My fiance & I are wanting to try for his fiance visa sometime in spring. He'd be coming here (to USA) from UK. I have 2 part times jobs right now. Gross income between both next year should be about $26,000. Do I need a FULL TIME job that is making the poverty level requirement by itself? I am working full time hours at one job, just don't have the status because the position hasn't reopened yet. They won't say when they'll open it either. :( But even with that full time job, it's my second job that takes it from $19,000 to $26,000 estimated annual income. My poverty level requirement is 22,000. I am guessing they need a full time job status to guarantee I will be making X amount next year, right? I just started my 40 hour/week job a few months ago too...

Can my uncle (who lives 3 hours away & is wealthy) be my co-sponsor? I know he'd be more than willing to do it. I'd look to my parents, as they would do it too, but my parents aren't exactly financial sponsor material.

Income is income. It need not be from one job.

He could self sponsor, problem solved.

Your Uncle sounds a good bet for a co-sponsor.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

A full-time job is no more stable than a part-time job. I know a lot of people that prefer working one, two or even more part-time jobs. All that matters is that you make enough to support your fiancée, i.e., 125% above federal poverty level per your expected family size.

Yes, any one can be a co-sponsor. Even a kind stranger off the street, if they really wanted to.

Thaaanks. I thought I read somewhere that one needed a "full time" job to show stability of income or whatever.

Curious, Anyone can be a co-sponsor, as long as they're willing to do the paper work, right?

And meet income requirements, of course.
