Once the NOA2, the case is forwarded to National Visa Center and then on to the U.S. Embassy in the beneficiaries country. Getting an interview can take many months depending on the Embassy. CLICK HERE to look up your fiance's embassy to get some information about it.

To clarify, though, NOA2 is your petition approval notice. You only have NOA1. Total time from NOA1 is around 7-9 months..

I definitely don't mean to burst your bubble, but 2 and a half months is a optimistic time frame between NOA2 and visa approval for any embassy. Considering the amount of mailing time your petition is looking at, the waiting period for interviews to be scheduled, then the potential chance of hitting administrative processing at the interview stage, it really does vary from consulate to consulate. Definitely check the stats for a rough idea as to what you're looking at.

Definitely find ways to decrease that time frame - start collecting your documents, for instance. It helps with the separation anxiety, to boot

Well we applied last year but our NOA2 was received at the end of November and my husband was in the States by mid-March. That's 3 1/2 months. Everything happened over the holidays here and Carnaval in Brasil so I think that may have prolonged the process by a bit.
