Interview was a disaster!!

My Fiance interviewed on the 26th of November and it was a disaster completely. She received the blue paper after the interview on Monday the 26th and after a couple days and more evidence I returned to the Consulate personally and received the green paper asking for a DNA Test on our unborn child!! So now I am contacting everyone in the Government to try and help me get her here before the baby is born otherwise we will be waiting for maybe 10 months!! Anybody have any ideas??

I hope everything woks out for you. I've only seen DNA being asked for by some of the African embassies. I guess other embassies or adopting this as well.

This is terrible news. I can't believe they're asking for the DNA test at this stage. I really feel bad about this. I hope that somehow and someway you can get find help to resolve this. I wish you both the best and my prayers are with you.

Wow...you really had a lot going for you from what I've read..your documentation and your evidence, your parents coming to Vietnam...the consulate really seems over-the-top, to the extreme strict! Can you get a good immigration lawyer? Someone with Marc Ellis credentials...I wish you the best of what comes...don't give up!

I agree that getting Marc Ellils involved would be a good move. Stay calm, remember you have options and use them.

I am extremely sceptical about people hiring lawyers for this. This is a warning written on the embassy website:

The Consular Section treats allegations of fraud or malfeasance in visa processing very seriously. If you have specific information about an incidence of fraud or malfeasance, please contact our office.

Now who knows? Maybe these lawyers and the CO's have some sort of kickback operation going on, but it sounds to me like nothing more than 3rd parties trying to capitalize on people in panic mode. And it would be no surprise that they would come to this site and suggest hiring them.

I know several Vietnamese people who have come to the US via marriage visas. All of them were denied several times for various reasons. It just takes patience and persistence.

10/4 on the advice. 3AD's story has me thinking it is worth it just for the experience that the Attorney has in the field. I have considered the 3rd Party/Panic mode theory and I am sure that it holds water as well.

This is obviously a very frustrating process. I am amazed to look at the stories coming out of HCMC and then to take a look at the Philippines. It appears that they are handing out Visas like candy there.

It is unbelievable. Even the baby is not yours, as long as you can proof you and your husband/wife are married, you are entitled to get the approval. By that time, We should say you are a great guy to accept the baby of someone. I really can not believe this happen.

Don't you have any convincing documents for them to review? Do not wait until the baby's birth. Try to get as much convincing paper work as possible. Try to persuade them to skip the baby's DNA issue. Tell them even the baby is not yours, you are marring to her/him for love. No matter the baby is yours or not. IT DOSE NOT MATTER!!! It is not only costly but also wasting time. Unless you are also curious about who is this baby's biological father.
