I'm planning on moving to a nicer one bedroom apartment more suitable for a married couple sometime before the end of 2008. I was wondering when the best time in the process to do this is without delaying things or pissing off the government. Here are the options I considered:

After the interview, but before POE, then inform the government before she arrives?

After POE, but before applying for AOS, then apply for AOS with the new address?

After receiving EAD, but before AOS is granted, just inform them of the change during the process?

After receiving AOS...this would be very inconvenient for us though since my current living situation is not suitable for a married couple.

Any advice from someone who knows a lot about this stuff or has experience with moving during the process would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I don't think it makes any difference when, if it is between receipt of the NOA2 and filing for AOS. I moved between the interview and their arrival but didn't bother to notify USCIS at all. We just used the new address on the subsequent filings.

I could have moved anytime during NOA2 to arrival stage but chose to do it only days before going to meet them at the POE, so we could arrange the kitchen and closets etc. together. It helped her feel like it was our home, not my home making room for her. She brought new bed clothes from China for the whole family and we shopped for her daughter's bed and furnishings together.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thanks mate, since you have both knowledge of the subject and experience with this situation, in addition to the fact that this would probably be the most convenient of the suggested move times, I will probably do what you did and move between the interview and POE.

There were no problems at POE with the address she was moving to being different from the one stated on the initial forms? I assume not, but did they even ask about it?
