Well, I'm only going off D, who as I said earlier is in a similar position....and he would never justify frequenting a mb during the work week. It was a sincere question, and wasn't meant as a flame starter!

Plenty of execs (or even non-execs) have time to kill. It is not a reflection of anything.

I think a lot of people on the lower end of the corp ladder waste time online chatting cos it's doing your time and getting paid at the same time....but the higher you go, the more responsibility one holds, and the less desire there is to waste the time & then it's productivity analysis and all that good stuff

As I said before, it depends upon what it is you're doing on the 'mb'. If the focus of one's time spent is to volunteer information, assist or guide, then it could be considered not only a rewarding pursuit, personally, but quite possibly a worthwhile one as well. Of course, I agree, hanging on VJ all day, and posting for the mere sake of either whiling away one's time or liking to hear oneself speak is neither useful, worthwhile or rewarding for me;)

I work at a (HUGE) web company - we have plenty of time to surf when my projects are caught up - it's expected.
