Hello to all of you Guys!

We went to to Driving license office today bec. I had an appointment for wriitten exam. They checked my I-94 dated Jan.9,2006.Then the guy in the front desk told me that i can't be able to take the test bec. my I-94 was expired already unless i have my employment authorization document. So me&my hubby left the office upset bec. we're not aware of that information. I called up uscis customer service to check my status abt. my ead and he told me they are now processing the month of oct.2005 application(notice date). Gosh! More more patience. My Noa1 dec.19.I'm stock up now!

Please Anything you can suggest so that i can take the written test for driving?

All your help are highly appreciated!

Godbless all of you everyday!

I dont think that you have to necessarily wait for your EAD to obtain your driver's license, with your NOAs it should suffice. It's the proof that you applied for AOS. I havent done my driver's license, but I did my State ID after my I-94 was expired, and all I had to show was the NOAs. The guy told me I could take the test any time, but that I should bring the NOAs again. Maybe this is only for Pennsylvania, but I would think it should work the same on any other state.

Here in Denver, Colorado they are pretty bad also. You can't get a state ID or driver's license unless you have an EAD or a greencard! I gave up on it. Good luck

Yep, That's right, I went to take my driving test yesterday here in California and I have got my driving permit that will be good until March 15th that is when my I-94 expires... They also where very clear about the NOA's.
