YES  Green card allows re-entry after a trip abroad.

Also this has nothing to do with working and travel prior to getting green card, she has a green-card, it should be under: "Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits"

7-2-07 Green card received

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

What does this question have to do with effects of major family changes on immigration benefits? Nothing. I love this website - always a someone with a wrong opinion lurking (like a #######). How about some compassion for the OP and his spouse, both of whom are confused. OP, if your wife's green card is effective (as in not expired) and her passport is effective (as in not expired) she can travel freely. if either one or the other is expired, you have a problem that I don't know will be solvable in a very short space of time. Peace. Japau

No it shouldn't be in there at all.

This is one of those inbetweenie types of posts that don't really belong anywhere, so the best place to leave it is here as it is about travelling, albeit with a GC. It is certainly better suited here than anywhere else. Travelling with a GC will not effect immigration benefits whatsoever.

Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits

This forum is dedicated to topics such as but not limited to divorce or even the loss of life of a petitioning relative and how it may affect immigration related benefits.

OP ~ Sorry for your wife's loss. (F)

japau ~ Please refrain from implying that anyone is a #######. Thanks.

Just make sure that the ticket is booked in the name in the passport and that your wife takes a copy of your marriage cert with her just in case.

Our condolences for your loss and wishing all of your extended family well.

Ticket in the passport name. Take the marriage cert along with the green card to present upon entry back into the US. The ticket has to match the passport.

Take care

Thank you all so much for the help in this matter!I contacted NWA I told them that I needed to know for sure the right way to handle this.NWA said that the airline ticket can be in her new name even though her filipina passport is in her maiden name because the original marrige certificate that we have is an official document that shows her maiden name along with her new name. And also she has her green card in her new name. These 3 documents are sufficient for her traveling to the philippines and then back to the USA.
