Flyers - my pet peeve

Ok, so this is one of my pet peeves. This is a picture of the 30 flyers/catalogues (approx 500 pages) I received today. Just one days worth of flyers. Normally we get these types of deliveries about 3 times a week, this is the biggest of the week - but still the others aren't far behind.

As we get closer to Christmas it will get worse and worse. This week alone I have received 2 catalogues from Sears.

The funniest one is the flyer from the Co-op grocery store - the main page is a big picture of their environmentally friendly shopping bag that you can purchase for only 99 cents!

I live in a city of just over a million people. This particular blob of flyers is delivered to each and every home. Next year we are starting a door to door recycling program, we will hire big trucks to go to every house to pick up these flyers. Bad Bad homeowners, you need to recycle, you are wasteful!! (currently we have a drop off system which is free to the public).

I'm going to get a 'no flyers' magnet for my mail box this weekend. I used to enjoy getting the occasional sale flyer - but these people are out of control.

I recycle them.

Will that really work though?? will a mailman respect that?? It looks like just a regular magnet printed up.. I was thinking it was an official USPS magnet or somethin' (curse them for delivering the flipping things).

Ah, Blackadder, now that's a comedy classic. Hugh was in all the series I believe.

Most of it. He wasn't in series one and only appeared in the finale of season 2. Season 3 he played the Prince Regent for the whole series. Season 4? Might have been a supporting player at some point.

Anyhoo, Hugh Laurie is great and his American accent ain't bad either; hubby didn't realise he's British (that Hugh Laurie is British, not that hubby is British. Cause he isn't, he's American. It'd also be a bit silly if hubby hadn't realised he was British after 39 years).

The Thursday paper around here gets huge because of all the inserts to do with Thanksgiving. Sometimes that paper is over five pounds  A lot of trees died for what

don't know if this works for those silly store flyers or not, but there is a Do Not Mail List

https://www.directmail.com/directory/mail_preference/

I think if you request the postal carrier to not leave them, they have to respect that and not deliver. I hate the blasted things too, its such a pain in the ####### all the ####### we get. And most of the stores we get flyers for are not even within 30 miles of our house!

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!
