My fiance found out on Friday when our interview would be... not until January 2nd! AHHHH. We were really hoping to have him here by Christmas and thought it was possible, since some dates from Nicaragua were within 2 weeks of the interview. Anyone have advice for moving up the date or had success? Should I write the consulate in Managua or contact my congress person? Thanks. Keep the faith on your journey!

If you are doing K-1, then why post this to the DCF forum?

Consulates will move appointments to a later date, not a sooner date, their calendars tend to be booked.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Its in the K-1 forum now.

I agree, it isn't likely they will move the date forward

Thanks, Jasman for moving me! I'm so sorry YuAndDan for the big inconvenience of the wrong post.

You could perhaps email the consulate to ask whether they can contact you in case there are any cancelled interview slots that you can potentially take. No harm in trying.

I only wish I had our interview in that short of time. You should count your blessings that you don't have the wait like my fiance and I do, waiting for interview for almost a year, and still expected to wait another year atleast. Wishing you the best of luck. WJR

Someone in the UK forum was able to contact the embassy in London and move the date up (I think by getting a cancelled date). They showed they had concrete plans for a wedding. Again, it was at London, so your embassy most likely does things differently. But as someone said earlier, its worth a shot to see if you can perhaps get a cancelled interview slot. I wouldnt' count on it though, but I hope I'm wrong! Good luck!

Kristen&Mark,

I would suggest that you use your contacts to see how plausable your request is. As is in many countries in CA, the counsalates employee nationals in the positions that will take your documents but americans make the decisions. At least in Honduras, that is the way it worked for us. In my process I would have had the complete confidence to go in and see the window attendant that took our documents and ask her how plausable my request was.\

Now on the other hand, and not taking away from the Christmas spirit, January in the US?? Seems pretty cold. I planned my move in order to be here in early October in order to ease my partner in winter. Just a suggestion.
