Urge, I appear to be missing from your spreadsheet. Can you please add me :)

Regardless of whoever gets it first, I will be happy for all of us once this process is over..

Same here

I was actually quite happy today, I was searching through the London Embassy site, trying to find out their current processing times, and found this:-

Appointments are available through to the end of January 2008. Please note that there will be limited availability during the week of November 19 and December 24.

This gives me hope that they're not shutting down for a full 2 weeks over Christmas, they state limited availability, not NO availability. Which will hopefully limit the impact of these holidays on their processing times (which I believe are currently at 2.5 months but I couldn't find the exact page :( ).

Filed: K-3 Visa Country: Ukraine
Timeline

So, my docs has been received by NVC on 11/14 (Wed). I see that based on current NVC processing speed my docs should be out to Ukraine on Friday.

In order to get information on whether they've sent our docs or not, do I still have to call them? Is there any easier way (it just hard to get hold of someone there)?

After they send our docs to Ukraine, how long does it takes for them to arrive to USA Embassy (on average)?

And, do I call them (embassy) too, to ask if docs were received or they have another process in place?

Also, do you know (when they received our docs) after how many days they will send out a packet to my wife?

And last one, because we already know our case number can my wife get her medical exam done with it, or she should wait for her packet from the embassy?

Thanks for your input.

Lvivlovers is probably the best person to answer your questions. His wife went through the Ukraine embassy very recently. Below is his signature information which I think covers most of your questions:-

I-129F

03/19/07: Sent I-129F to Chicago Lockbox

03/23/07: Received NOA1 from MSC

03/28/07: Transferred to NBC

03/29/07: Touched

04/10/07: Transferred to CSC

04/11/07: Touched

05/01/07: Received at CSC

05/02/07: Touched

05/03/07: Touched

08/08/07: Touched

08/08/07: I-129F Approved! (Received CRIS notification on 08/09/07) Total wait: 142 after sending!

08/30/07: I-129F received by NVC.

09/04/07: I-129F sent to US Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine.

09/14/07: Emailed embassy and found out I-129F received. They also emailed information packet!

09/19/07: Medical exam: Passed!

10/29/07: K3 visa interview: Visa approved!

11/01/07: K3 visa received from FedEx.

In order to get information on whether they've sent our docs or not, do I still have to call them? Is there any easier way (it just hard to get hold of someone there)?

Yes, you will still need to phone them. The NVC do have my email address (because Josh gave it to them on his last phonecall) so not sure if they will send me a confirmation email that they have sent it (either way, Josh will continue to check the status every-other day). You'll also need to know the exact date it left the NVC for your visa timeline :)

Cheryl,

Will add you for the next update.

Urge, I appear to be missing from your spreadsheet. Can you please add me :)

andreydy,

You can call them, or you can send an email to NVCINQUIRY@state.gov but I don't know how quickly they respond to email, most people on VJ seems to call to find out.

They use DHL, which should be able to reach any part of the the world in 5-6 days max., but obviously it varies by embassy and local conditions (political, weather, geographical, etc.). So I would expect that 6 days to a week after the send they should have it (of course you have to plan in Thanksgiving in between).

And to contact your embassy, Kiev actually has a very rich website. You should look there, you can call the Non-IV section or send them an email to confirm that they got it. For embassies, because of time difference from the US, it is usually better to email then call.

Thanks for your input.

Your wife needs the Packet for Medical Exam. But, She can schedule it ahead. Also you or she can probably speed up the process by contacting your local embassy and asking them for the interview and packet via email, in which case you can use the print out of the email. Good luck :thumbs::thumbs:

No, Once NVC sends your case to the embassy, while the case is on its ways, she or you can send an email referring your case number and request the packet via email. I did so with Chennai embassy, and they waited till they recieved the case from NVC and then responded with the email attachments of the Packet and Interview date. Good luck

The reason I said while the case is on its way is, NVC sends the case both via electronically and via DHL, so if they recieve an email from you referring your case number, they know that yours is a valid request since they have your case number on their system and respond positively. If you send your email earlier, since they don't have your case and they don't know when they will recieve it, they will just respond saying, "we don't have your case".
