He's kind of mean and grouchy and a bit of a hypocrite. I mean I have seen him make mistakes before too. Although, normally, when he does make a mistake someone will tell him off - so maybe this is his way of venting

I was in there reading, only to see what kind of jerk he was to Laura. Seriously?! I hate people like that. Just because they've been around longer they think they know the answers to EVERYTHING! Ohh....I'm so irritated it took me forever to write this little post because of all the spelling errors! ~giggles~ Okay, time to take a deep breath now! :D

Deadpool...don't mind me saying this but your dad sounds like a d-bag...you get me?

I wouldn't say something usually so rude about someones family member but man..he just sounds like such an a-hole.

I don't mind at all and he is an a-hole. Fortunately, I won't have to come back anytime soon and if I can avoid it, I won't visit again.

Time and space just might do the trick.

DPX, sorry to hear about your father's actions. We can't choose our relatives, we can just choose the boundaries we set with them, and it sounds like you set good ones. Hope Canada is getting more enjoyable for you :)

I am sorry that you Dad is like that. It is tough on you when you are trying to be the better person. Good for you, though, for holding your own even though you had to yell to get him to listen. He sounds like one of those doctors who suffer from the "Doctor God" syndrome - tough on everyone around them, indeed.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Awww thanks Jill :)

Okay, this is a vent of my own now ...... I NEED MONEY!!!! Some of you prolly know my story ...hubby has been laid off since August, bambino has had 2 surgeries and mucho medical bills have poured in (I have applied for financial aid). There is sooo much unemployment in our area and no jobs. We have been considering moving to another area, but that brings another px .... Timing. If hubby can get a job, most likely, he will need to go first and begin work while I remain to terminate with my clients and figure out what to do with our house (btw, we have a realtor coming to assess it on Saturday, although we are not too hopeful). Hubby is reluctant to leave me alone in the winter with a 8 1/2 month baby, knowing how much snow we get in Northern NH. He is concerned we will have a big storm and I will be unable to clear the snow off the roof, etc. I feel like we are stuck in the land of indecisiveness, not knowing how to proceed. What is lousy too is, in a perfect world, I would not be leaving because I really like my job. The area hubby wants to move to (has a friend who is trying to get him on with his company) .... the jobs available for me would be to work at the local community mental health center which I am reluctant to do so because I know how overworked the clinicians tend to be and how unmanageable the caseloads are (I have lived/worked in 4 states and observed this in each state). Ideally, if I have to leave my agency, I wouldn't mind getting a job back in the school system, but no jobs like that available there. I feel so guilty too that hubby left a great supervisory job in Canada to move to freezing cold NH to take a job banging nails again in the dead of winter, only to be laid off and now unable to find anything. I feel like I should move wherever in this country he wants to go, even though I have reservations. Rational? Prolly not, but that is where my head is right now!

Awwwwwwwwwwww. I'm sorry, Autumn. What a dilemma for you. I have no wise words at this time. Just a hug. ((((((((((((Autumn)))))))))))))

The one thing I have noticed in life is that, sometimes, when things look like they're at their worst, they actually turn out to be a blessing in disguise. And winter won't last forever so that's something he can stop worrying about. I lived through them with two small children. It can be done! But, seriously..... I really do hope things start looking up for you. (F)
