So I brought this up in class today and here are the facts.

Don't under estimate Putin he is a master chess player. He is having a powerful oppurtunity right now with the US forces being strained to the max.

1) Putin has stratigically manuvered to penetrate Latin America via Venezula and Hugo Chavez offering military support to Chavez if the US persist to install missile bases there.

2) Putin has troops in China performing stratigic military operations with the Chinese troops.

3) Putin is aiding Iran in building their nuclear program as well as supplying Iran with sophisticated weapontry.

For #3 it has been suggested that Isreal will swoop in and bomb any sites in Iran they deam as nuclear and if not them it would be the US who moves in.

From my understanding it's not a matter of if the US will strike Iran it's a matter of "when".

As to Putin he has always been too big for his britches. Insulted my father in-law in college and got a knuckle sandwich for his trouble. My wifes uncle used to work in the same department as him in the KGB and has nothing good to say about him.
