they said my application is being "looked at" and will be completed in 1 month's time.. just to let everyone know... :whistle: don't really know the real answer though...

I-130 STAGE 1 : 533 days - 1 year 6 months (4/16/2007 to 9/22/2008)

Priority Date I-130 : 4/16/2007 ( 533 days , APPROVED 9/22/2008)
Transferred to local office based on "security checks" : 11/27/2007
wrote hundreds of letters - received letter from FBI Records Management Chief stating no security checks
local office interview : 2/21/2008 - brought my parents too (result : you will get approval within 2-3 weeks)
5/2/2008 - (lawsuit) Writ of Mandamus - OFFICIAL DATE (7/29/2008)
9/22/2008 - CALL AND EMAIL COPY OF APPROVAL NOTICE FROM LAWYER

they said my application is being "looked at" and will be completed in 1 month's time.. just to let everyone know... :whistle: don't really know the real answer though... it‘s been over 180 days for us。。 yet they said to wait another month？？？ what is going on now？ at least I got a nice person on the phone ， but that still doesn’t help us。。 did anyone else call in recently to check on their case？？ At this rate， it will take until my original estimate of April 2008 for her to come。。

I am waiting a few more days before I call.... I am getting quite good at waiting. :(

11/08/2007 - I129F received at NVC, embassy case number generated.

11/13/2007 - I129F forwarded to embassy.

01/09/2008 - finally, DOS gives me the interview date, April 16, 2007 (ouch)

04/18/2008 - both of us are home at last, POE JFK!

Thanks for the encouragement. I just wish we had filed earlier. Not that your wait wasn't painful, but your timeline says that you had the interview in 126 days since filing your I130, I have been waiting for USCIS to approve my I130 181 days already and counting. Oh, how I wish I could have that timeline. My wife and I had a chance at an October wedding, but for various reasons decided to hold off. We could have beat the USCIS slowdown. Just another lament to add to the list.

My wife and I definately learned all about the word patience. It seems like forever when you're in the process of waiting, but will go much faster once you get your approval, it will come.

If you could only have turned the tables. Definately we would have filed earlier for an K-1 Visa and our spouses would now be by our sides. The wait is extreme... :crying::crying::crying:

Hi Guys,

I am in kind of similar dilemma here of when to call... If I can resist my urge to call USCIS, then I think I will try to wait till about mid-November since then my I-130 will have easily crossed 180 days time.. My I130 NOA1 is 05/17/07..

If I call before then I think I will get the same song and dance from USCIS. USCIS rep: "Has it been six months since you filed?" Me: No then USCIS rep will say.. "Ok call after that." ..hmm :) So if I call after 17th Nov then I hope to get some concrete answer...Hope is the "key" word. Btw, isn't it pathetic that after having waited for about 5 to 6 monts after filing, we, as petitioners, are still talking/debating about when to call USCIS versus we should be dealing with NVC/local embassy at this time in our process... :wacko:

MY Honey, I SOOO agree with you on this one: K1 would have been much better/faster than K3, more so for the post-March 2007 K3 filers than other past K3 filers I guess.

The most hurtful thing for me has been, back then, not having known the time difference between K1 and K3, I actually had thought about filing K1 at one point but then when I saw that you use the same form for both and it kinda felt like they "should" be same timeframe and that K3 was designed to get your spouses to US faster, I decided to go with K3... and then I came across VJ and I get to know/see the real K1 faster vs. K3 slower picture.. Anyways, no point in crying over spilled milk I guess... Its all fate and destiny..
