Please don't think this is a troll. I created a new account to remain anonymous and I need some advise.

How serious is the affidavit of support? My husband came to the US on a K1 visa and we married when he arrived. We've applied for the AOS but it's still pending. Long story short, this marriage isn't going to work out and I need to know if I can just cancel the AOS before it's approved and withdraw my affidavit of support or am I going to be financially responsible for this man as long as he's here?

If he goes to live with the girl he's been chatting up on the internet am I going to end up being their guaranteed paycheck?

Sorry to hear this. I would definitely contact USCIS and explain the situation. File for divorce. Try to stop the adjustment of status.

You're lucky because you found out so soon. If you were married for a few years and he had just waited the entire time he would have much more in his favor. As it stands you have a chance to say you were used to gain entry into the US and the guy used the marriage to de-fraud you.

If this is to happen to someone it is far better that it happens where you are. The only thing better is to find out before they even arrive, but it is a bit hard in a LDR.

Best of luck to you. I'm sure you are feeling used, angry, depressed, but keep reminding yourself how much worse it would be if he had PLR status and you needed to pay alimony.

I don't think its good idea, to stop the adjustment of status before getting divorce decree is in your hand. Then you won't have any status. I think the better way to approch is, file for divorce....it may take couple of months to get your divorce finalized. In mean time if your AOS case is approved, you are lucky.

Other wise, after having divorce decree in hand , you can request to halt your adjustment of status process. And then you have to apply freshly I-751 form with filing separately clause.

Because you cannot file new I-751 seperately, with out having Divorce decree in your hand.

Thanks for the advise everyone. I'm not sure what I'll do at the moment. He says he isn't going to talk to that girl anymore and half of me wants to trust him but the other half of me can't. I had trust issues before this and it doesn't really help matters. I can't help but feel like I'm being used for a greencard but there's something inside me that wants to believe that he really loves me and means it when he says he's sorry :(

BTW, can anyone suggest a free keylogger that doesn't slow the PC down to a crawl when it's running? I installed three but one I couldn't figure out, one gave a message that it was running and the other made the PC so slow so he knew they were there and ended up finding them all.

also be sure to check out your state laws in regards to the above - you could be breaking the law by installing that program.

I would not recommend this program as it's easy to find it with a simple search. This was one of the programs I installed initially that tipped him off.

I just downloaded this one and avast caught it while it was being downloaded. It's not much help if the virus program is going to alert the user that it's being monitored LOL

I had a good one that was virtually undetectable but it slowed the PC down so much that he knew something was up.

So I come home tonight and spybot has been removed (apparently he's been searching for "spy" and deleting what he thinks are keyloggers lol) anyway, there was some malware on the PC too that he picked up today so I had to install a new spyware remover to get that off and when I ran it I found pages of porn cookies so I checked the history and there's only history for today (I'm not sure why there's only history for today because I don't delete it) anyway, there were more than a few porn sites visited today and some pretty disgusting ones at that. When I confronted him about it he swore that he didn't go to them and that that virus must have done it. I don't know if I should believe him or not. :(

It's my personal PC.... how can it be against the law? Parents install these programs to keep an eye on their children all the time

we had a discussion on this very topic in vj about a year ago. some states hold you are violating the privacy of your wife, husband, children, whichever may apply even though the program is installed on your own computer. that's why i mentioned that previously.

here's the link where keyloggers were discussed and how someone got in hot water for using one.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...;hl=key++logger

The Electronic Communications Privacy Act, a federal law, was violated during the recording, Potter claimed. ECPA (18 USC Section 2511) bans anyone from disclosing "to any other person the contents of any wire, oral, or electronic communication" that was obtained illegally.
