I was denied the K-3 visa after the CO learnt that my parents were not at our wedding. Why is this so? I didn't want them to come because they expressed so much fear and doubt in our union and I decided not to invite them to something they don't believe in. Also,NVC informed me that they are thru with processing our K-1 application over two months ago, and we were told that I'd be contacted by the Embassy for interview, but I haven't heard from them since then. Is there anything wrong?

First off you couldn't have a K3 and K1 visa going at the same time. Did you mean CR-1 [i-130] instead of K1?

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

And who's parents were not present at the wedding?

USC's or the beneficiary's?

K1 is a fiance visa. K3 a spousal visa. Your post is very confusing. Please give specific details.

CR-1 Timeline

March'07 NOA1 date, case transferred to CSC

June'07 NOA2 per USCIS website!

Waiver I-751 timeline

July'09 Check cashed.

Jan'10 10 year GC received.

I agree with the previous posters, you couldn't have filed for K-3 and K-1 at the same time. Maybe you're confused because you also sent I-129F when you filed for K-3.. but remember that just because you used the same form that is used for a fiance visa it does not make it a K-1.

You need to give us more info.. this is all so very confusing.

You could have arranged someone to stand as your parents because their presence matters a lot that will convince the CO that the relationship is legitimate and approved by both parents and also you can not have K1 and K3 going at the same time.

Good Luck,

Hi from reading your email you live here in the US and your husband lives in Nigeria? Do you call NVC they have an automated system that tells you what is going on with your case you can also speak to an operator, they schedule interviews for Lagos Nigeria through the NVC office here in the US. It takes about six months before an interview is scheduled depending on what type of visa you filed CR-1 K-3 and so on. I'm interested in when you filed your I-130 and when NVC told you your application was completed....
