Ok, here's what I have:

- Packet 4 Interview Letter

- Passport

- Long form of birth certificate

- Unopened X-ray and medical exam

- Vaccination Record

- Police Certificate from April 2007

- DS- 156K, unsigned (already sent in DS-156 X 2 copies with passport photos attached, with Packet 3)

- 2 passport photos, just in case

- photos of me & fiance together from as recently as Monday!! :) (thanks to my little brother!)

- phone bill from Aug-Sept 2007

- i-134, signed by fiance and notarized (not original copy...)

- Signed letters from US fiance's main employer stating yearly salary, etc. & part-time employer

- Bank statement from US fiance's bank (although I'm thinking of leaving this out)

- Signed & updated (Oct 5) letter of continued intent & desire to marry me within 90 days of arrival in U.S. on K1 Visa

- $100 USD

- Xpress Post mailer (Very big - 394 X whatever it was - it cost $9 something)

Waiting for:

- Fiance's tax returns, copies of paystubs from past few weeks (should come in the mail Monday or Tuesday) & W2 form - he said he sent me passport photos of him too, just in case...

Still need to get:

Photocopies

Thinking of getting:

Updated police certificate from RCMP

Wondering:

Do I have the right police certificate?!

Am I going to get my fiance's stuff in time?! (I think I will but you know!)

What if it's raining in the morning in Montreal? How do I carry my stuff... I don't plan on bringing a purse or anything if I can help it! What should I carry my stuff in (especially the X-Ray - I don't want to bring it if I don't have to, but it's stapled to the medical, and I don't want the medical to look messed up because there are holes in the envelope lol)

I'm planning on heading to Montreal on Monday!

Looks good! The police certificate is fine as long as it has the CPIC name search, which all RCMP and just about every other police force requests do. You only need the fingerprint check if you have a criminal or other conviction. I don't know about your fiance's stuff arriving in time but take whatever you have and hope for the best. Keep the x-ray in a half-size garbage bag or a smaller clear composting or waste disposal bag. A clear accordian file folder is perfect for your files but a tan or manila accordian file folder should be OK.

That's all that comes to mind.

Bonne Chance and Blue Skies!!!!

FYI they told me in Montreal in January 2007 that bringing the x-ray was not required. They said it was to give to the US Dr. for your medical files. They never asked for it at the POE either. That was our experience.

Same for me in April 2007. I think I haven't heard of anyone on VJ since early 2006 that ever needed the X-ray. The X-ray is for the doctor to be read, and the results are in your sealed medical. The immigration officers are not Radiology experts....It can't be more useless for them :)

Only odd thing, I opened it for fun 2 weeks ago to check out my lungs...and my husband's first comment was "Nice boobies" Men...

I wish I had known I didn't need to bring the XRAY. It was a pain to bring it on the plane and to the Interview. He didn't open it or touch it.

I opened it up when I got back to the Hotel to look at it.

I don't want to bring it - my fiance and I both want to look at it - LOL. I just don't want the Consulate folks to see holes in the unopened medical and wonder about it  haha

It was a rainy day for me , and I have an accordeon folder made of plastic and that's what I used for my papers. Waterproof :)

And since I brought the useless X-ray I had put both the X-ray and the folder in a plastic bag. No purse or anything. I had my money and my keys in my jacket.

My X-ray enveloppe was stapled to my medical envelope, and since I didn't want the precious unopened medical to get wet I removed the staples and put it in my folder. There was no problem with it, as long as the envelope itself is unopened.

I am curious about the very same thing! :) And I am thinking I will just remove the staples on the X-Ray and probably won't bother bringing it.

Great idea kimmbo.

For the stuff my Husband will take I bought a plastic binder and binder pockets with snap closures

kind of like what kimmbo mentioned.

Bought them at Zellers for $1 and change each:
