I know a little Portuguese. Of course... what little I do know would probably get me arrested and/or killed.

For instance, I can say: "Vá se foder" and "filho da puta" and even "não me venha com essa porra." :P

I'm probably better off sticking to English and German (the only foreign language I can actually read, write and speak with any degree of serious knowledge). B)

Oh and just so you all know, none of the Portuguese up above was aimed at any anyone here. I'm just showing off my extremely limited vocabulary. Although I would appreciate it if those here whose native language is Portuguese could tell me if what I wrote is correct. Nothing is worse than insulting someone in their own language and getting it wrong. That just makes you sound like a complete moron.

I know that's what people teach and all, and I know, in my case, that some of these things I tend to say a lot, as I am sure is true with Nessa as well, but still, it's funny how people learn these faster than learning "Where can I find a taxi?" or "Can I use the bathroom", etc. I mean, things that you'd think people would learn first since they might be useful.

The most important phrase in any language is: "Excuse me, could you tell me where the bathroom is?"

My brother once told me that the most important phrase was: "Ma'am, if your child doesn't stop poking me, I'm tossing him out of the airplane." :unsure:

:lol::lol:

My husband said s*** the other day, and then asked me what it meant - I thought it was funny, since I say it sometimes. He also is able to say m***a f***a very well (he works with Americans who say this)....hahahaha, it was funny because his co-worker said it has a joke and my husband repeated it in such perfect English...

I used to do Kung Fu in the UK but am badly out of practice. They do it in NYC - but having to commute to Jersey makes NY not so convenient for Gyms and classes etc.

Wouldn't mind doing something to help lose the 10lbs I've put on since moving to the US.

What style of kung-fu?
