Hey Im trying to figure all this paper work out and I'm seeing things about showing proof of financial support for my fiance. Well, I am unable to work due to a disabilty, and am in the middle of my disabilty case now. How do I show fiancial support if I can't work? Does anyone know an answer to this???

A co-sponsor, you will provide an I-134, and your co-sponsor provides an I-134. The Co-sponsor needs to make 125% povertyline counting your fiancee.

That is correct but it is not clear the OP is without income. If current disability income is sufficient, then state and document it. Otherwise, you'll need a joint sponsor as Dan outlined.

You can present any documentation you get from Social Security once you are approved for benefits. Then you will get papers on how much you will receive, I think it is called an award letter, then every January you will get a paper stating your yearly amount, kind of like a tax form. Maybe you can use that?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

once you're approved for your SSA disability, you can request for a "proof of income" from SSA (you can fill up the form in the website or call SSA). the statement itself can be used as proof that you are on SSA disability.

like what nagishkaw said, you will automatically receive a social security benefit statement at the beginning of every year to show what your benefit amount is and what it's been raised to. it also shows how much will be taken away for medicare. there's another statement you can request (SSA-1099) that shows your annual benefit total and your withheld tax.

you may try calling your local social security office, or the main one 1800-772-1213. you may also want to check out http://www.ssa.gov/disability just that the website is down at the moment for some maintenance. i was going to post a link to the "proof of income" form. i will update this post when the site is up.
