Nearly 1 in 5 Democrats Say World Will Be Better Off if U.S. Loses War

I'd be curious to know how those questioned, both Democrats and Republican would define winning vs. losing the war...what war?

Doesn't losing a war mean there's two sides declare war against each other until one side surrenders? Who exactly have we declared war against in Iraq?

If it's the usual standard, there's no way we're going to lose because the Iraqi government isn't going to take Washington. And if it's not the usual standard, and the goal is 'a stable Iraq favorable to American interests, isn't it a safe bet that we've already lost? Baghdad's been ethnically cleansed. The Iraqi middle class that could afford to leave (the ones that you need around to make a stable society) has done so. Pretty much any stable solution requires us to cut a deal with Iran.

So I'm not sure what the people answering 'yes, I want the U.S. to lose' in Fox's little play poll were saying. Do they mean they just want the troops to come home?

But anyway:

Most people — 87 percent — say they have said a prayer for the troops, and another 77 percent have prayed for the war in Iraq to end. A much smaller 54 percent majority of Americans say they have prayed for the president.

Since when is who or what you pray for news? I'm just shaking my head, I don't really comprehend this type of thinking at all.

Nope, its more about showing why some people want to see us lose. People who responded to the poll this way are the ones that have been knocked down by lifes trials and are laying there with their hand out waiting for someone to help them up. The democrats are great at putting out a helping hand, only to pull it back at the last second. 50 years of promises that never seem to happen. The clip is a great example of independence.

The US has already won the war so that is a moot point. The question is now, Can we win the peace?

I often wonder about this. Many people seem to forget that we "won the war" in the timespan of a week or so. It was over very quickly. The issues we're facing now is the occupation of Iraq, invasions from outside of the country, problems in attempting to set up a fully working Iraqi government and military. We need Iraq to be self-sufficient before we can leave, only I don't see that happening anytime soon.
