Goooo Lisa!!!!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

But don't mistake my chattiness at times for familiarity with my situation, devilette...

I never claimed familiarity, did I?

You seem to be with the tone of your posts and the audacity of your public questions and speculation into something that is of no concern to you.

Why I haven't seen D in so long is none of your business, quite frankly....and for you to come in here with the nerve to suggest that I possibly shouldn't count the time apart from D as 'relationship' time....well, tbh...I pity you. Don't get me wrong, I pitied you before tonight, but now it's really quite complete. I pity you for obviously not being able to either remember or ever truly know what it is like when two people overcome every obstacle in their way and fight to make the impossible possible. But I also pity you for your manner.

If you were TRULY curious...pm me. But that's not your style...no...dev needs to get her neckerchief in a twist and cause chaos wherever she goes. It's ok dev...I'm up for your nonsense. You amuse me. Carry on.

I asked a question. You chose to avoid it & then insult me.

Your little VJ games don't fool anyone, Lisa. ;);)

There are none so blind as those who will not see...tsk

Your one question was answered. You mentioning 'being puzzled' about my situation is 1) not a question and 2 ) addressed as none of your business.

Thanks for the effort though.

ask her.

no do not ask her brother jim...that was in her past..before you knew her..let it go and enjoy your love now...

given that article we saw posted in vj about germans and underwear, i'd say it would be a safe question :P

No bother really. Your replies speak volumes to your character.

BTW, I never asked for you to comment on my puzzlement so I'm not sure where that comes from. It's about as appropriate as telling me the 5 different ways you pity me. OH THE IRONY!

Now excuse me while I go sit with my (very real) hubby.

Do You Yearn for a Man in Your Past?

No.

Next stupid question, please.

case in point: D and I are together 8 years this January. While yes, it's true that he did propose before the end of the first year...we've been together all this time and it hasn't been about him 'not wanting to marry this particular woman'.

yet you've been apart 15 months. Do those months count as part of the relationship? (This is an honest question here, btw.) I mean, you haven't touched/hugged/kissed/smelled your fiance in over a YEAR. I am puzzled to why when a ticket costs $500 from Orlando-UK.

Hmmm. I am gonna have to report this one.

Speaking from my vantage point.. the "yearning for a man of your past" is a very real threat to a marriage.

I know of a story of a woman who longed for the father of her first child who abandoned them when he found out (in High School) that she was pregnant.

She went over a decade pining for him and eventually marrying someone else. Her new husband legally adopted her daughter and they had 2 more children together. Then when it came time for the oldest daughter to "meet her biological father" the wife's longings for the ex-boyfriend were stirred all over again. She left her husband and took his children with her and lived with the ex-boyfriend for 3 years in a completely different state. Now, the ex-boyfriend having his fling and his daughter back in his life dumped the wife (now x-wife) and the family is in shambles.

This article states it like it is.. as far as the "if you aren't with him he doesn't want you" bit.. I'm not sure i agree with the 4 year rule there, but the rest rings true in this story.. Put your past behind you quickly so it doesn't ruin your future.

Amen to that.

Being overly sentimental to the point that it clouds your judgment is a bad thing. I think it's a sad state to be in, if one lives their life full of regret...better to believe that wherever you are in life, that is your path and embrace it with open arms.
