One of my favourite ways to make the world a nicer place is just to smile, honestly, happily and sincerely - at the person in the line with you, at the check out counter clerk, while answering the telephone, at the mother with the kids in the parking lot - wherever. You would be surprised how often you will get a flashing smile back and a nice 'Have a good day'.

Years ago I remember walking around feeling very sad and it must have showed on my face. A total stranger said to me as I passed by "Smile, maybe it won't feel so bad then". The words were gentle and the message kindly meant. I looked up in surprise and this person smiled at me. Instinctively, I smiled back - and you know - he was right. I felt a sense of gratitude for this person for his smile and his wise words, and I have always remembered his advice.

So, smile:-). It will make you feel good and will help make others feel good too.

Great list....

Ive got a few ideas that would be nice(I hope)

1. dont speed...imagine the carnage you may cause :crying:

2. signal before switching lanes...imagine the chain reaction you may set off by abruptly jumping in front of someone

3. make sure break lights are working properly...nuff said

4. stop to help someone having car trouble...be aware of your personal safety at all times though :hehe:

5. wear your seat belt and be sure others in your car do too if you care about them :luv: ...that carnage thing again

6. dont jump red lights...the life you save may be your own

7. stop and let others pass if the road is jammed...dont jam it more by blocking the way

8. dont sweat the small stuff...dont let other drivers inconsiderate actions lead you to road rage

9. do not distract yourself from driving by talking on the phone, looking in the mirror, fiddling with the radio, beating the kids(lol) or reading the paper...once again....carnage. It only takes a second for the rest of your life to be changed forever.

10. Last but not least....make sure your car is in proper running order...dont be a menace to others on the street with fumes and noise

I know these are all driving related but I see the daily struggle to survive on the roads with other peoples inconsiderate and sometimes downright dangerous driving and I thank God everyday when I get home with car and limbs intact. drive safe.

I say thank you and smile when someone holds a door open for me, like when walking into a store or something -- it's amazing how many people seem surprised when I do that.
