you have to file for removal of conditions 3 months before the green card expires, but otherwise that's it.. unless they mess up the green card in some way.. or it doesn't get there.. Oh and you probably still have to change the SS# so it reflects your status.. but otherwise the hard part is done :-) congratulations..

You got a 2 year green card right? (or you probably will get anyways..) so 3 months before the 2 years is up you have to file form I-751 to remove the conditions on your 2 year conditional green card... I'm pretty sure we get conditional cards because we adjust status based on marriage, and they just want to make sure the marriage lasts at least 2 years.. :-) anyways.. taht's all it is..

So it takes 10 years to become a citizen? I had no idea it took that long! Can my husband have dual citizenship between the USA AND THE UK?

No, it doesn't take 10 years to be eligible for US citizenship. If married to a USC, it takes three years of being a Resident and spending most of that time in the US. One can apply 90 days prior to meeting that 3 year requirement.

After AOS if you are permanent resident you just relax and enjoy your life. That is what I am planning to do. No more worrying about what would happen if we move to this other state, if our income would not meet the requirements etc.

It is nice to be free of worries on what might go wrong.
