Where are the current processing times posted as 6 months? Isn't it posted as about 120 days at both service centers? The one on the USCIS website doesn't really count since it's always automatically generated to say 6 months, anyway.

Anyway, we got ours in about 3 and half months.

Hmm.. i noticed this as well.. instead of having a date they just placed 6 months.. I filed back in march.. and got the noa2 back in april.. so my question is.. Is May first month to count? or is it April since I filed back in March? If April is the first month then September will be my sixth month and need to tell them that they have passed the deadline.. they are not supposed to pass it I think..

Does anyone have any thoughts about the new USCIS processing time for k1 visa, 6 months?

If you are asking about the official time lines that the regional center posts, these refer to the oldest application they have on file that needs to be moved on ... just my understanding ... this means that they may be working on files from May, but they still have a few applications pending (for whatever reasone, rfe etc.) that are from Feb. If you read the text on the USCIS website before the processing time table it explains the date they use. There may be a post on this site that explains it as well. Don't worry, it's not necessarily as long as it looks when you look at the regional timelines... or so I tell myself and whole heartedly believe :)

FYI - I clicked the link above, and this "6 months" under I-129F is new, just last week it was Feb. something (can't remember the exact day). reading the language above the table, I think it still holds that the processing times are based on the oldest applications they have on file (when I filed in June it was November, which would be 8 months); so it's a better bet to guestimate based on the processing time statistics (link located above) and add a bit of time.

Regardless, the 6 months is the hard cases for the center. The largest percentage of us will be processed much faster (and yes, my nickname is PollyAnna).
