I see that lots of people who filed before and after me have received their NOA1 in the mail.

I only see the regular "We have mailed a response detailing how we will process..." when I check the status on USCIS with my receipt number, which I'm told is the same as my NOA1.

I have not yet received anything in the mail at all though...is this bad that I'm one of the few who haved not received anything? Did USCIS lose my paperwork or anything? What should I do?

How did you pay the fees, the receipt number is sometimes on the back of the check. The important NOA is your approval NOA, make sure you keep it in a safe place, you will need it for AOS. Good luck

I paid by money order, but I have my receipt number already. I was also issued my NOA1 already. However I have NOT received my NOA1 in the mail yet. My NOA1 was issued on August 2nd, but still nothing in the mail.

Is this bad u think?

When you call in to the USCIS they say that if it hasn't been 30 days to check with your postal service to see if there may have been a problem.

If it has been more than 30 days ask to speak to Customer Service and they will ask you all the normal questions and perhaps they will resend it and update your file on the USCIS website. GOOD LUCK

I really wouldn't get hung up on it if I were you... you know they received your petition, and that it's in the queue; a paper NOA1 isn't going to tell you any more than that :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I was in the same boat as you. My online status showed NOA1 was mailed on 1 Jun 07. I had waited for the mail as well until 15 July 07 when I called USCIS and asked about my case status. They told me the same thing as mentioned in online status. But then I received 2 identicle copies of NOA1 on 20 July 07 (one dated 16 July and the other dated 17 July). So now I am still waiting for the NOA2. I called them 2 week ago and they still telling me and probably everybody else the same old #######.

I really wouldn't fret too much about not receiving your NOA1 - you've already got your case number from the money order and you know that USCIS has received the petition from the online update system. The NOA1 isn't needed for any future documentation, whereas the NOA2 hard copy is worth worrying over if you haven't received it in the mail.

We never did receive an NOA1. I don't think it matters so long as you have your case number. The important one is the NOA2 because that will be needed to Adjust status after you marry.

Again, you can ask this same question in multiple threads, but the answer will always be the same! The NOA1 does not really matter in the grand scheme of things! You have your case number, so you know they received it. Your case is NOT lost! Its the hardcopy of the NOA2 that matters. We all keep telling you the same thing over and over, regardless of where you have posted this question. Seriously, you should go have a drink and just chill out!
