The time lines and guesstimates here and on the USCIS website are not important.

You just have to make sure your petition was received, check cashed, and have a case number assigned.

Then you wait 90-100 days with no real changes. Hope there is no RFE, which means you need to spend 10-20 days providing the requested information and delay the petition.

Then you should be approved and get NOA2.

I'd also expect a larger than normal amount of petitions in June/July as people filed to save $250+ before the fee changes, but who knows if this was the case of if it actually will swamp the system a bit more than usual.

the slowdown at VSC is not due to the fee increase, because it began long before (roughly in may/june)...we dont really know what is going on, but we do know that it is currently taking MUCH longer to go through VSC than it used to...hopefully it is due to summertime vacations, and things will be back to normal in a week or two...only time will tell...until then, you can expect at least 90 days to be approved...just sit tight and enjoy the ride

I agree that the USCIS processing information is useless. But if you are also ignoring the VJ timeline info, how did you reach the conclusion that it will take 90 - 100 days to process a petition?

As far as I know, all the VJ statistics and projections are derived from or based upon individual timelines.

I don't want them to be annoyed with me but im hearing on here that I should call after 90 days after the noa1 just to make sure everything is moving?

First time I called was after 90 days....

A poster here (RosemarieL) said in another thread that from April, VSC was flooded with "H1B" work visas, and they've had a long backlog of those to deal with. They were mandated from above as having priority over family-visas, so as a result only a small number of workers were assigned to approving K visas. Now that the H1B's should be all but done, things will begin to dramatically pick up in September for us. Maybe. ;)
