hi! I arrived here last May 31 only then we stayed at California. Tomorrow Aug. 24 after my biometrics we will be moving to Las Vegas. I would like to enroll there in any community College. Do I need to have grencard first before I can enroll? or any residency to be qualify in community college?

Yes, I believe that you may need some type of residency to prove that you are here legally. Also, you may want to check with the community college about tuition fees and i am guessing that since you are new to las vegas, you may have to pay out of state tuition fees which can be sky high even at the community college. Best thing to do is to check out their website and/or go down to the admissions department or by calling them to get all your answers addresssed. Good luck and I hope you requested your official transcripts to be sent here if you have taken courses in your native country. If you have taken classes in your native country, its best to request them to be sent here and to get them internationally evaluated which will help you transition into the college system here and also an internationally evaluated degree also looks good when applying for a job. I just started community college yesterday! I enrolled just a few weeks after arriving on a K1 visa. It may vary from college to college, and also my husband is in the military, which did play a part in me being able to get resident fees. I would contact the college and get the information from them. Good luck.

you should be able to enroll with your visa. They might required a TOEFL (test of english as a foreign language) before admitting you. Also, you might have to expect higher fees as a non-resident of that state. In my state, you have to live there for a year, be married to a resident of that state or be full-time employed to count as a resident.
