And your not likely to make friends with someone who has radically different political ideology than you do. So what you hear, is going to generally support your political ideology.

And polls, well you can make poll say what you want it to say. By asking the right questions/people. But it doesn't prove that one view is a majority view more than another.

so what would you judge my political ideology to be? because you are implying that the ppl opposed to illegal aliens are all conservative republicans...

in actuality, on a VAST majority of issues i am VERY liberal... ask steven (who has an opposing viewpoint on this issue) if we dont usually wind up posting in agreement on many other topics here... or better yet, just use the search function... gary and i usually dont agree politically...

on this issue, however, i see it as an even greater picture than just this one woman... the US can only physically take in X-number of ppl... much less than the population of the rest of the 3rd world... we have the legal limits for good reason... we can only do so much... these other countries need to do something for themselves... many of them have money... its just in the pockets of very corrupt few... how is it better for those ppl to come to another country illegally, be exploited by big businesses, just to send money back to a corrupt govt?

you can give a man a fish and he eats for a day... teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime...

just letting illegals be here will help those individuals shortterm... but if they know that they cant get away with entering and living in this country illegally, then they will either try it legally, or quite possibly, they could use all that energy to change things for the better in their home country (instead of demanding that another culture change itself to suit them)
