NVC Assigned case number, confused on what's next...

NVC does not schedule K-1 interview dates.  They schedule only immigrant visa interviews.  They send emails by mistake, sometimes.

The responses they send are very generic. Mine said it was in “ready” status and ready to schedule an interview. Then we received our packet 3 via email that said very big and bold at the top. DO NOT SCHEDULE YOUR INTERVIEW OR MEDICAL EXAM so… I’m glad I didn’t end up doing that. Now we are just gathering everything needed for the packet 3 checklist.

March, 24 - my fiancé (petitioner) received an email that case is sent from NVC to the Embassy

April, 2 - I saw READY as our status in the CEAC tracker

Today, April 9 - I've got the checklist from the Embassy 🙏

We got READY as our status on April 8. Did you receive the checklists via mail or email, and did you have to initiate anything to have the checklist sent from the Embassy? Thank you!

I've got only an email by now, probably an actual paper mail gonna come soon too? Not sure (I'll post here if/when I get it)

We received the checklist by email (petitioner) the only thing we are waiting on now is his background check. He goes Monday to get his fingerprints taken. We ran into a snag with my bank for the affidavit of support. I have a bank that is completely digital. It was hard to get the info they were requesting.

As a fellow petitioner/beneficiary in Canada, good luck! Once you send Packet 3 in, it takes about a week to get Packet 4. Something we found confusing with Packet 3 was it listed that you need proof of payment for the Visa, but in reality, you only pay for the Visa once you're ready to schedule the interview at the Consulate. You bring the proof of payment to the interview.
