Ok I have questions. Please help. A little confused right now 😕

So our petition was sent to DoS on Feb 5th.

NVC stated they received it on Feb 18th

Today (Feb 25th) we received our NVC case number (after asking for it).

When I try to log in to CEAC it says “not found”?

I read somewhere to use just the nvc case number and to put NA in passport number field. I tried this and it accepted it and showed me the following message…

IN TRANSIT - Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center”

Q1. Is this 100% accurate? NVC have forwarded our case to the consulate just 1 week after receiving it? This website says average time is currently 35 days?

Q2. Why does it say interview date has been provided by NVC? Is this just a generic/standard response?

Q3. I’ve heard and read multiple times that you can submit your ds-160 and pay the fee when your status shows “in transit”. You don’t have to actually wait until the consulate receives it as it only takes 5 days to get from nvc to consulate. Should I submit mine now and pay or wait some more?

Thanks in advance for your replies people. I am so confused rn! lol

Q1.  If CEAC says it's in transit, then it is.  Whatever website you are looking at for NVC processing times do not include K1.  A week to assign a case number is not unusual at all.

Q2.  That is a generic statement.  No interview date has been scheduled.

Q3.  The DS-160 is valid for a year after submission.  I usually suggest waiting until the petition is "ready", but you are close enough to that to submit it out now.
