Hi everyone,

I was wondering whether anyone has a similar experience or has any recommendations. I had my I-751 and N-400 combo interview on 14 November 2025 in West Palm Beach office. I passed both. I requested a surname change to my husband's surname. The officer noted that the surname change would likely have to be in a court in West Palm before or judge or sometimes a judge can dial in for the ceremony in their office.

It has now been over two months and my oath ceremony has not been scheduled. On my USCIS account it says for I-751 case approved and has a mark "case closed". At the same time, for my N-400 it says "oath ceremony will be scheduled".

I called USCIS they said that their internal policy gives them 90 days to schedule an oath ceremony so I should only do an inquiry on 14 February. Otherwise all looks fine on my file.

I will need to travel abroad in the spring and I would really need to get my oath ceremony/passport issue resolved before that.

Do you suggest that I write to the congressman office to see if they can speed things along even before February? Anyone else is also waiting in West Palm for an oath ceremony or knows how long it typically takes for a surname change scenario?

Thanks for any feedback in advance!
