My son arrived in the country today. He received a stamp in his passport, and CBP told us that his green card will be mailed to the address we provided. I’m trying to apply for his citizenship and not want to mess anything up. I have a few questions:

- When can I apply for his U.S. passport, do I have to wait a few weeks or can do it right away?

- I read somewhere that there’s a $220 fee for the green card. If I’m planning to get his U.S. passport and the passport agency will confiscate the green card anyway, do I need to pay that fee still?

- Am I correct that I should apply for the passport book and passport card together first, and then apply for N600 once the passport is issued?
