Overstay on B1/B2 visa

That is not always a good idea.  Sometimes people assume they will get approval, and end up overstaying by 6 months....which results in a 3 year ban.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Unless he overstayed at least 6 months, there is no ban for overstay.  But, his tourist visa has been voided.

Yes.  ANY overstay will automatically revoke the B2.
