Exactly when in 2024? Are you a US citizen? Has the I-130 been approved yet? It’s not clear what stage you’re at.

In any event, Somalia is one of the countries banned by the Trump administration. Does she have another citizenship? If not she can’t get a visa anyway for now - https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/06/restricting-the-entry-of-foreign-nationals-to-protect-the-united-states-from-foreign-terrorists-and-other-national-security-and-public-safety-threats/

I think they are still processing I 130 s and she will eventually be interviewed but no visa can be issued until the ban is withdrawn

No, if you’re from a ban country then there’s no way to get an immigrant visa. There used to be an exception for immediate relatives but that was removed last month.

But in any event, if she hasn’t even had the I-130 approved yet then she’s at least 12-18 months away from an interview. She’s got to go through the whole visa application process at NVC, then she’s got to wait for an interview and that takes a long time in Abu Dhabi - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/iv-wait-times.html

But maybe by the time she gets an interview the ban will have been lifted, just keep an eye on that.

Good luck.
