K-3s are very, very, very rarely issued.  They almost always are closed administratively and processed as CR-1/IR-1 spousal visas.

  Good luck on your journey.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

3 -6 months. At least that is what a friend that knows a few people that did it. FYI, you don't need a attorney to do it.

Your estimate is way off.  I suggest you look at the average VJ times.  As reported by other VJ members, the time from submission to visa interview for a K-1 is 284 days (about 9 to 10 months).  However, there are variables which could make it longer or a little shorter.

Of course not everyone needs an attorney.  This is a Do-It-Yourself site where we help each other.

I forget how many K3s were issued last year, less than 10.

Every case is different. Depending on what country, and what time of year. My friend got his wife's K3 in 4 1/2 months from China. I knew another man that got is K3 in 5 months. It depends on the consulate processing. I remember years back the consulate in Guangzhou was processing over 3000 K1 visas a year.

It is very difficult to nail down exact figures. I searched USCIS many times. They give estimates only. They may has well be predicting who the Packers Bears game this Sunday. The opinionated talking heads can give me every statistic of every game ever played. But that doesn't matter to the guys on the field. The game is decided by them :)
