Why are you worried? Does this timeline surprise you? It can take 12-18 months to adjust status.

Nobody is going to believe you want to study on non-immigrant visa while you said you want to adjust status and live in the US as resident.

 

Who sponsored you? US citizen spouse? If yes, you just have to sit tight and wait fot adjustment decision. The reason you don't hear anything yet is because nobody is looked at your paperwork at USCIS yet. If you wanted to avoid adjustment, you should have gone spousal visa route.

If you are married to US citizen you can study or work while waiting. Practically, I don't know how you can enroll into school without EAD. Even unauthorized work will be forgiven if you are honest about it at interview.

 

Changing to F-1 is not an option for somebody who entered on K-1 visa. The only options are to wait for GC or leave the US.

As @OldUser said, why? Processing times are far longer than 120 days, you can check them here - https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

 

F-1 isn't a dual intent visa, so you'd need to prove you have no immigrant intent to get it, obviously that's not going to happen with a pending AoS case. 

 

As asked above, who has petitioned you?
