Hello all,

My mom has a PD of 04/13/2009 for her brother in Pakistan. To this date we haven't gotten any updates for the case and it still shows it is "Processing as normal". No I130 approval or anything from what we can see and address is updated for USCIS. Just wondering if this is normal...

Thanks!

Yes, perfectly normal. They don't rush to process I-130's when there's no visa available anyway.

Got it, thanks for the update! I would have thought they would process at least the I130 but would this mean that if the I130 gets approved it would get scheduled for an interview right after DQ?

I have not come across a I 130 that has taken that long

PD has to be current and that will take a few years

Yeah I don't mind that it takes a couple years tbh. Just heard from others they had their petitions from 2012+ approved but of course since a visa isn't available they have to wait at NVC.

No interview can be scheduled until there’s a visa available, and even then there’s a years wait at Islamabad for an interview. So it’s still a few years away.

Has the petitioner submitted an enquiry and if so what was the response?

I tried submitting an inquiry on my moms behalf but since it’s her case they wouldn’t give me any info so I have to wait another 60 days to reapply.

Oh yeah, she has to do it. If she's not computer savvy then are you sure it's definitely not been approved - has she checked the online status/account?

Yes, we checked the online status through the online status portal but the weird thing is this, the notice date online says February 26 2010 but the paper says April 13 2009 which is vastly different. Also, given that the visa bulletin is on March 2009 then our turn should be coming up anytime within the next 1-2 years but still nothing

A year or so back then for an I 130 sounds about right.

What notice? Your Priority Date shouldn’t change.

If it was linear, but it rarely is. Go back 5 years to the Oct 2020 bulletin and you'll see it’s only moved 1 year and 3 months in that time.
