Just had my interview at the Stockholm embassy today, so writing down my experiences for those who are about to go there.

Were 2 lines at security, K-1 as others here have mentioned can use the shorter immigration interview line, They started letting people in at 8 am, once through you are asked to keep along a path up to the main building, and are ushered onto one of the windows.

I was asked to provide 2 photos, my passport, my birth certificate, police certificate and my fiancés divorce decree, due to the different nature of her divorce (her ex left US and filed in another country, sweden coincidentally) my fiancé dosn't have originals, so I could only provide copies of those, I was told I'll have to get originals but I was still good for my interview. I am going to the courthouse to pick those up as of writing this.

Sat down maybe 20 mins to wait before getting called up to a window. Was a very relaxed interview, and I got asked these questions:

Can you tell me about how and when you met?

So you've known eachother a long time huh? (Friends since 09, started dating shortly after her divorce in 23)

What does your fiancé do for a living?

Do you know how much she makes?

What do you do for a living here in sweden?

Do either of you have kids?

Have either of you been married?

Then I was told: we are gonna need you to send us court certified copies of your Fiancées divorce decree then we are gona go ahead and approve your application.

Was out and calling my fiancé with the good news by 8:47.

I echo Edward's sentiments.  Thank you for taking the time to let us (and everyone) know.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I was just wondering, if the embassy’s email/mail was mentioning anything about petitioners birth certificate?

Nothing on their birth certificate, though we had submitted a copy of that during the I-129F.

Our Case is now in administrative Processing as of October 15th, hoping for a a fast turn around.

Thank you for the reply! Good to know!

Sorry, one more question - about your birth certificate. Did you bring an original and a copy of your birth certificate? Some people say that it’s needed to have a certified copy of your birth certificate to bring to the visa interview. Did you have a certified copy or a “basic copy” of your BC?

In sweden we don't really have birth certificates, so we get "person evidence" from our IRS instead so I brought an original of those to my interview. In hindsight from my own situation with having a copy of my fiances divorce decree and not a certified copy of that and now looking and maybe 2 months or longer delays because of it I would get certified copies of your BC just in case :D more as a "rather have a certified copy and not need it, instead of not having it certified but needing it" :)

Exactly! Better be safe than sorry! Noted, thank you a lot! :)

Figured I'll post a lil refresher and update.

Had my interview October 8th, was given a 221(g) requesting a court certified copy of my fiancés previous divorce decree, along with a verbal confirmation that as soon as I got the papers submitted they "will go ahead and approve your visa" I got one and sent it in the day after on October 9th.

I checked my CEAC status for the first time on October 10th, status was "Ready", it then updated from Ready to Ready on the 11th, 15, 20th 22nd 23rd, and then again later on the 23rd it updated to "Application Recieved" and this is where I currently am. The wait coninues

"Application Received" is good news.... This means that the Immigrant Visa section has completed their review and sent it to the Non-Immigrant Visa section for visa issuance. The Non-Immigrant Visa section are the ones who changed the status to "Application Received" when they got the case transferred to them. This happened in Jaycel's K-1 case and a day or two later it changed to "Approved" and then "Issued" right after.
