Hey everyone!

Last Friday 09/19 I received an email that said we were approved and on the USCIS website it had the approved date of 09/19 as well. Today I received the NOA2 in the mail and it says 09/18.

Does this really matter? Why would there be a day difference?

Thanks so much!

Should not be an issue.

Is the difference approval date or notice date?

Is it just status and email that show 09/19 or electronic copy of NOA shows 09/19 and physical letter shows 09/18?

The email I received said they approved it on 09/19 and then when I logged into my USCIS account it says approved on 09/19. Only the paper NOA2 I just received has 09/18. The paper letter only had one date. How do I get an electronic copy of the NOA2? I didn’t know that was possible!

Thank you for answering me so quickly!!

Do you have document tab in MyUSCIS?

Case status or email are not legally binding. The paper date is correct date. It looks like online status and email are just lagging behind.

No, I don’t. I can only add cases and look at their statuses/file a form online/pay a fee.
thank you for your help! I won’t worry about it then.

Good afternoon. Could you please share when you received your NOA1 notification? We’re currently waiting for a decision and are a bit confused about the typical timeframe. We’d like to know how long it usually takes and hear about others’ actual experiences.

You can see it on their Timeline, just click on 'Timeline' on their profile or any of their posts. You can also search timelines for other members at the top of the page.

And please do fill your own timeline in to 'pay it forward' and help others, thanks.

If you go to K1 visa timelines and sort by I129F NOA2 date then you should be able to track when others on this site get their approvals and that’ll give you a better idea of when to expect yours! I’d say at the soonest you should hear something in the next couple of weeks.

This is common.... The date on the NOA2 is the official date. The portal lags 24 hours behind whatever action USCIS takes on their internal systems. The I-129F we filed for Jaycel showed approved in the portal on 6/4/2024 but the NOA2 said 6/3/2024. Same with her I-485 approval - The portal shows approved on 7/24/2025 and her Green Card says "Resident Since 7/23/2025"

Thank you so much! That makes sense now. I appreciate your response!
