Hi everyone, I'm doing research and already looking into preparing parts of the AOS package. 

 

I'm not in the US yet, but since I know I have 90 days after arriving to send in this package, and I need to send in two (for my son as well), I'd like to do some work already. Our K1 package took me months so I wanna be prepared I guess.

 

Now I have 2 questions, can I send my own package and my son's package in one 1 envelope or do we have to send them in individually?

 

And how does it work to get a social security card or number? I've heard you can apply for one once you arrive, but I also saw on the I-485 form you can get one there.

 

If anyone has any good tips of how to file with a child as well, please let me know since I can't find much about that.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
