We pursued a K-1 fiancé(e) visa, but it was refused and may include a misrepresentation finding.

Is the current CEAC status still "Refused"?

Each country has its own very different immigration laws. English as the primary language cuts it down a bit.

Obviously depends on what basis.

As a general comment work transfer it often the easiest.

Canada has had issues of late, saw that they are now refusing 80% of Indian Student applications

I’m a U.S. citizen engaged to a partner from India. We pursued a K-1 fiancé(e) visa, but it was refused and may include a misrepresentation finding. We’re exploring options to live together in an English-speaking country outside India. We were looking into Canada, however it seems Canada’s Express Entry has seen limited general draws since 2024. Are there reputable immigration consultants or law firms we could speak with to assess which country’s permanent residency pathways might fit our situation?

You can just take the online tool yourself (will do the same as a consultant anyway) - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/come-canada-tool.html

And you need to check your CRS score as a first step, if you want PR via EE. Then you can see if you stand a chance for a general draw. Bottom line is that Canada wants young, highly educated people, ideally with specialist skills or French language, so if you don't fit that narrow criteria you're better off looking at other visa routes such as PNP. Most routes will need one of you to get a job offer, so start exploring that and seeing if either of you have a company that will transfer you etc.

Good luck.

Yes, which is why I suggested you look at PNP. But if you wouldn't be scoring anywhere near enough (most people wouldn't unless they're already living and working in Canada) then it's a moot point anyway. So take the test above and the CRS score test as well, and then take it from there.

Good luck.
