We just had our I-130 approved and got the NOA2 approval notice.

Now the case goes to NVC.

My problem is that here on VJ, the NVC process information is woefully out of date, like 10 years?????

Anyone can point me to what we need to do next?

Once NVC receives your approved I130, they'll send you directions to open your CEAC account. The CEAC instructions are pretty straightforward. You'll first need to pay the fees, and once the payment clears you'll be able to begin uploading all your required civil documents, the affidavit of support, 3 prior years of income tax transcripts, etc. See the NVC website for a complete list of documents. After you have uploaded all the documents, NVC will review and determine if you are documentary qualified. After achieving NVC approval, they will forward your case to your Embassy to schedule an interview and let you know the specific Embassy requirements. Our Embassy wanted a lot of additional information uploaded; specifically evidence of our relationship.  Do note the CEAC website has a very strict size limitation -- I believe any document uploaded must be less than 4mb. They also do not allow breaking submissions down into separate documents -- e.g. you cannot break up a divorce document. There are pdf programs that will compress documents, but it does get tricky getting everything down to the 4 mb limit. BTW: if your beneficiary did a name change after submitting the I130, you can upload all name change documents and new passports at this point. Not a big issue with NVC -- our attorney told us not to do the legal name change until after submitting the I130 and this work for us. Hope this helps.

It's not out of date?

But you can follow the official guide, it's all very clearly laid out step by step. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html

One thing to be aware of is that if your profile is correct and you'll be applying via Nairobi, there is a bit of a backlog there. Not as long as some consulates, but still a year or so wait for an interview so just factor that in.

Good luck

Sorry, not sure which information you mean? If it’s the interview wait then it’s here - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/iv-wait-times.html
