Our case became DQ on June 30th... There has been no further updates since then...  Submitted inquires to Hong Kong Consulate and NVC... NVC response says they are waiting for a list of available appointments from Hong Kong... Hong Kong inquiry says they can't find my wife's case because NVC hasn't sent it... NVC says they won't send it till they can schedule the appointment..   Is it possible that the ball got dropped here that HK is waiting for NVC and NVC is waiting for available appointments from Hong Kong.   Can't call NVC anymore so each Email is 4-5 days for response....  Phone calls to the consulate say must send them an Email which takes 2-3 business day.   Any suggestions on how I can find out when appointments might be available??    IV status tool says NVC is scheduling Hong Kong Appoints that became DQ in July...  I'm concerned that the ball got dropped... Any thoughts would be appreciated.

NVC will not send the case to the consulate until after they (NVC) schedules your interview.  NVC must wait for consulate to give them available dates and times.  This is the process after DQ:

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interviews for cases at the front of the line.

5. NVC schedules your  interview when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

6. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

7. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

@Crazy Cat   again thanks for the response it was DQ on June 30th.   Is there anyway to know what the Q Length or how long we should expect to wait for the interview to be scheduled?

You should search the forum and look for other threads with people from the same consulate and how long they've waited or are waiting. I don't recall how long it seems to be averaging for HK, but there has to be some people on here who know.
