Hi everyone.

I filed I-130 to petition for my siblings a while back. Today I was just looking at the paperwork and I noticed that Form I-797-C receipt notice has an error in my sister's name. When I submitted I-130 to USCIS I provided a birth certificate of my sister and listed her full name (first, middle, last). However, on I-797-C, my sister's middle name is not listed.

I know I listed the full name because I made a copy of the petition I mailed out.

My sister's name has 7 letters in first name, 6 letters in middle name, and 6 letters in last name. For a total of 19 letters in the full name, in case its a issue with character length.

The application is still in process. The application was being processed at the California Service Center, but I checked the case status online and it says on April 30, 2025, we moved your case into our electronic immigration system for processing (Case migrated to ELIS).

I called the customer service number, but the automated agent won't transfer me to an actual person and was of no help. I used the "emma chat" to chat with an agent, but the agent was of no use and didn't help at all.

What should I do?

Who and how do I contact, to get the name corrected?

Is USCIS not including the middle name on the I-797-c not a big deal?

Thank you to everyone in advance!

Not a big deal. Considering I-130 for siblings take decades, some siblings change their names in the meanwhile, due to marriages, divorces etc.

Corrections can be made when the petition reaches the consulate phase and the DS260 is filled out.
