I90 timeline for a replacement green card due to an error on card.

I recently received my replacement green card due to an error on my previous that I applied for in October 2024. Thought there may be someone out there who might like to know how long the process took.

 

October 7 2024  I  received my green card with an error, it had the wrong country of birth,called the uscis help line they told me do resubmit a I90 stating the error and return the card with the application.

October 8   Sent my new  I90 application for a replacement card to the locked box address in Phoenix AZ

October 10  Application was received at the locked box.

October 15  I90 application to replace resident card is activley being reviewed.

June 25 2025 New card is being produced from form I90 application to replace permanent resident card.

July 3 2025  Received new card no errors!

 The whole time the card was pending it said it would take approx 24 months. it actually took 8 months 3 weeks, a lot better than the 24 months I was expecting!

This is good info!  I have seen a couple of I90 filings recently and, of course, there hasn't been much info out there on the actual timelines.  Nice to have a data point!

Thank You. I was hoping this info might be helpful, or at least give a bit if hope to those waiting for the same application to  be approved.

Thanks for the report! I personally think one should have a realisitic expectation. If it says up to 24 months, one should prepare for 24 months VS being dissapointed and worried if card doesn't arrive within a year. With USCIS it's hard to know. For example, my I-751 took 20.5 months instead of 7 months according to processing times when I filed. If I was too hopeful for 7 months processing, it would have made my wait a lot harder....

The issue lately seems to be there's no info!  USCIS now tells newcomers to wait 120 days instead of the usual 90 days.  It's a mess!
