We elected for pickup. She was approved on the 15th and I got the message at midnight on the 17th in my email. I didn't get an SMS message and I am in eastern US time. I hope you get it soon.

Yes the pick up was a success, but not enough time to do the CFO. Will happen Monday 7/21 to fly to Seattle late afternoon.

I am very, very surprised the consulate would issue a visa with only a few days of validity.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Now we know. They probably released it knowing she can travel up to the date it expires at midnight to make it to the United States. Expired visa once in country is not a concern like a tourist visa etc. The K1 extends to 90 days.

The normal process is to call the applicant and ask if they can travel prior to visa expiration date if the medical expires within a couple weeks.  Sometimes, they even direct the applicant to obtain a new medical if it is close to expiration.   That has been the case in multiple instances I've seen.  Keep us up to date.  We are rooting for you.
