Seriously? Isn't it better that we vent frustrations here and have a laugh instead of directly at someone who is asking such a question?

Aside from the fact that some of these questions are probably things we, as noobs, wondered ourselves. So in that way, we're taking the piss out of ourselves too.

I agree. We're just being silly and having some fun -- no one is forced to read or participate and no one is forced to feel offended. Let's face it - there are tons of silly questions on VJ and tons of misinformation. And nothing at all is changing here. So what on earth is the harm of having a little fun here in an off topic thread? Geez. I may just decide to seriously leave VJ (and then who would provide all the accurate information about waivers, correcting all the wrong answers provided?) hhmmm

I really didn't want to post in this thread because I don't feel like debating anymore today about anything...but I think part of the problem is that there are real questions and real phrases here that are being made fun of. I think joking about the process is a different thing.

I just had commented a short while ago in a K1 thread that was locked, and said some people were being rude, etc. and not long after some of my words and others' word were used as one of the "joking" comments here. I don't find that funny. I know some people don't know whether these are real questions or not. Maybe some don't seem to realize all of VJers can read this thread even if we don't comment in it. Maybe a newbie who asked a question will read this thread and see their question being joked about.

If anyone saw their words being used I am sure they would feel the same. I don't know whether I'll be called a stick in the mud for writing this, but some people need to know that there are real questions/words being used here.

There is venting going on all the time, I just don't find it funny because its not just in this thread. It's all over the forum including the ones being poked fun at in here. I think its bad form, especially when so many are upset at the negativity abound.

Then why focus on this silly thread? If it's all over the forum perhaps VJ and the mods need to address that and find a way to finally make some positive changes.

If I have done that, then I apologize because it was NOT my intent. I was doing it to have a laugh, and it certainly was not directed at anyone in particular.

If others have done that, well, then I didn't glean that. I don't see why the rest of us shouldn't be able to have a laugh because of the ones who DID do that.

And let's be serious here for a minute - when has this NOT been done on VJ? I can think of multiple times where that's been done to me or to someone else. But how does the argument always go? 'Just don't 'rise' to it because if you do, then you're just as guilty as the person who started it.' Blah Blah Blah. SSDD.

As we've been saying for a while now, that is part and parcel of the 'way of things' around here - has been for a long time. I thought the consensus was not to change that - but now the tide has turned?

Personally I've thought this thread is great not just for the laughs, but maybe its given an opportunity for some folks who have 'had it out' in the past to now have a laugh (forgive and forget and all that). I would see that as a GOOD thing, but that's just me.

No reason to put words in my mouth. I said "VJ and the mods" meaning Ewok and whoever he would collaborate with. I did not attack the mods.

Whatever - the thread was obviously all in fun. You'll close it anyway and the legitimate issues and problems on VJ (some of which have been addressed here in a silly, joking way) will get swept under the rug as always.
